After Dinner speaking
Thank you so much for your fascinating and funny talk... "Best talk ever”, members were saying as they left. Well done! It was great to see so many members asking you questions. There were 134 members in the audience, which is a really good attendance.
All good wishes.

Journalism and Copywriting
Ex Fleet Street Journalist
Graham Keal’s features and columns have appeared in many national and regional publications and cover all kinds of topics.
Graham went freelance in 1986 after almost two years as London-based TV writer and celebrity interviewer for the chain of regional newspapers owned by Westminster Press – now part of Newsquest.
For many years he specialised in covering anything and everything to do with television – drama, comedy, entertainment, documentaries, natural history etc.
Clients for his TV features and interviews have included The Daily Record, Daily Express, Scottish Sunday Mail, TV Choice, TV Quick, What’s On TV, The Daily Mirror’s TV magazines (The Look followed by We Love Telly), Sun TV magazine, Total TV Guide and TV Times, women’s magazines Best and My Weekly plus regional newspapers including The Western Daily Press, Sunday Life, Belfast Telegraph, Birmingham Post, Sunday Mercury (Birmingham), Sunday Sun (Newcastle) Lincolnshire Echo, Northern Echo, Liverpool Post, Daily Post (Wales), Bradford Telegraph and Argus, Bournemouth Evening Echo and Bath Chronicle.
He has also written celebrity interviews for The Guardian’s student section Rise and contributed to a Guardian special supplement on peaceful urban havens for inner-city workers.
More recently Graham has widened his scope and although still actively writing about TV he has also covered:
Property
For publications including The Sunday Express, 25 Beautiful Homes, Life and Style Magazine and The Lincolnshire Journal
Health
For newspapers including Daily Mail, Daily Express and regional magazine It’s All About You
‘Real Life’
For Sunday Mirror Celebs on Sunday magazine
Food
Has always been a passion and Graham has interviewed many celebrity chefs. Interviews have included repeated encounters with Rick Stein, almost as many with the late Keith Floyd, four interviews with Gary Rhodes and interviews with Jamie Oliver, Jean-Christophe Novelli, Ainsley Harriott, Antony Worrall Thompson, Rose Elliot, Paul Rankin, Anton Mosimann, Madhur Jaffrey, the Two Fat Ladies (Clarissa Dickson Wright and the late Jennifer Paterson), wine expert Jancis Robinson and, most recently, both Hairy Bikers plus Michel Roux Junior of Masterchef: The Professionals and Le Gavroche fame.
Motoring
Graham’s life-long interest led to commissions for Portrait of a Driver, the late-lamented stars-and-their-cars feature in the Motoring section of The Daily Telegraph. Actor and Jaguar fan Ralf Little, Mercedes driver and
actress Sarah Alexander and Changing Rooms interior designer and keen recycler Oliver Heath and his Reliant Scimitar were among subjects covered. Graham also interviewed Lisa Rogers, host of Sky One’s Top Gear rival Vroom Vroom for the section.
